OUR STATION
We are a station that was created out of a need. When mainstream media no longer felt and valued the jazz music category as a viable, and profitable music media like Rap, Pop, Rock, or Urban music they turned their backs on a demographic that cross the lines of race and ethnic backgrounds.
We had the knowledge and the technology to restore the jazz category not only to our home of Detroit Michigan, but we found that it was possible to share jazz with the world. We take our listeners back to a time when they enjoyed listening to their favorite music on the radio, only using technology to assist many of them with a newer way to connect with their computers, their cell phones, and their tablets.
We are a blend of seasoned veteran announcers, combined with locally well-known DJ's that have embraced the transformation to becoming announcers. We are indeed from Detroit Michigan, and the world is our community. We are WJZD RADIO JAZZ AND SO MUCH MORE!!

A radio veteran with over 45 years of radio broadcast experience under his belt. Don is a graduate of SPECS HOWARD SCHOOL of BROADCASTING, But he was already on the air long before he attended broadcasting school. Don learned and studied under some of the best names in broadcasting. Broadcasting experts like Jim Ryan, Terry Arnold, Rosetta Hines, Larry "Doc" Elliott, Alan Almond to name a few. He has worked in a variety of formats including rock and roll, R&B, Jazz, adult contemporary, sports networks, talk formats, and beach music. An accomplished DJ he has spun across the country, in nightclubs, and all types of celebrations.
Marvin Yates

If the character "Data" from the Star Trek series were an actual human he would be Marvin Yates. The only difference being Marvin has a lot more style. Marvin knows what is needed, how to obtain it, and he knows where it is located and exactly how to utilize it to maximum efficiency. There is none better in professionalism. Style and class are always present.
